A ministry of hope, freedom, and joy for post abortive women

2 Corinthians 3:18

Sweet Fragrance of Forgiveness

We started the Reflections study in January, and on a very wet, rainy night began the 10 week journey into God's complete healing and freedom. I remember reflecting on the heavy rains we were having on the first night of our study, at first seeing it as a possible deterrent, and then realizing it is really a powerful symbol of Christ washing away our fear, shame and guilt. Now, here it is in March, we are in our 7th week of the study and as I sat down to write again ... it is raining! However, this rain is much different than in January. Because now we are beginning to feel and see signs of spring - the warmth of the sun, and budding flowers instead of barren trees. This is also so symbolic of the journey of Reflections. We start in the cold, barren winter, and even though the ladies come because they do see the Hope of God's grace on the horizon, their souls may feel cold and barren due to years of their secret sin of abortion. Yet, just a few weeks into the study, after thoroughly studying God's Character, peeling back the layers of denial, and looking at God's Truth related to anger, forgiveness, and depression..... we see "new life" in the ladies, souls are beginning to "bud" with the sweet fragrance of God's forgiveness. Winter to Spring ... Darkness to Light ... Bondage to Freedom. This is the incredible journey of Reflections. These last 4 weeks will be the most important as the ladies are giving dignity to their children by giving them a name and allowing themselves to grieve their loss. God's healing rain is washing away all the guilt, shame and secrecy. He is continuing to "sprinkle" His grace and mercy on these precious women, and a new life of freedom is emerging!
